Print Issues in Jira

Selecting the issues to print is hard and unintuitive. The software has bugs meaning that buttons don't behave as expected and then worst of all, print order is grouped by issue type, so all subtasks are printed out of order from their parent stories, so you have to manually rearrange to put on the board. Should be really simple but TBH understanding common use cases and subsequent execution is just lacking.

Was hoping this would solve my need to print stories as cards (and pick the fields I'd want to see on that card) but this didn't work as advertised: not all the stories in my current sprint showed up, in the PDF, there were blank cards, etc etc.

  From your description of the problem in this review, one potential cause for confusion might be that Print Issues automatically keeps track of which issues you had already generated a PDF for, and will not auto-select those issues for printing after that. This is indicated by the printer icon alongside such issues. You can adjust this by using the filter buttons at the top, by selecting cards one-by-one, or a combination of these approaches.

Doesn't seem to work. It only prints the title, and not much else.

  Dear Niek,

  The add-on is intended for arranging key data into a card format for tracking issues on a wall or whiteboard. The screenshots on the Overview page give an indication of what will be printed, but the details to expect are:

  • Issue ID
  • Issue type icon (story, bug, etc.)
  • Priority icon (low priority, high priority, etc.)
  • Issue title
  • Number of story points
  • Project name
  • Epic name

  You can find more details about the add-on on the Print Issues from Jira website and the FAQ.

  We're certainly open to suggestions about how Print Issues could be improved, though. Feel free to drop us an email and let us know about other details that you would like to see included on the cards.
