SonarQube Cloud™ for Bitbucket Cloud (Legacy)

I want to like this app, but it has some issues. 1. Using Maven to automatically provision the SonarCloud project (via an initial scan of the main branch) yet it requires to manually link the Bitbucket repository to the SonarCloud project. This means that despite the automation the code repository does not show any code quality information. In an organization with hundreds of projects this is busy work. 2. Project import requires searching for the SonarCloud project corresponding to the code repository even though the Bitbucket Cloud and SonarCloud organization ids are the same, and the code repository name and SonarCloud project name are the same. 3. Project import still has issues (first reported several years ago) authenticating With Bitbucket. Using the login button from the repository settings (even though I am already logged on to the SonarCloud organization) flashes a popup screen and takes me right back to the SonarCloud settings screen in the Bitbucket Cloud repository settings, but does not link. 4. The SonarCloud widget is able to show full metrics (score for each code quality category), but the metrics are only for the main branch regardless of the branch selected in the dropdown and thus branch differences are not visible within Bitbucket Cloud - it always requires multiple clicks on the SonarCloud site to do comparisons other than metrics from new code in a pull request. For a product that has been around for such a long time, one would think this basic integration would just work; I write software for a living and this is an educated opinion. 12/2021 SonarSource rep, thanks for your response.   1. This is actually under consideration. You can follow the topic here on our public roadmap.

  2. This will be solved by the same feature ‘Automatic provisioning of bound projects’.

  3. This is already on the radar and will be fixed in the coming future. For now, we still have one use case that requires this login screen to be entirely covered.

  4. We have created a new ticket in our backlog about this topic.
