It is great that there is an integration between JIRA and Roadmunk, but it is almost unusable due to these four main issues: 1. Missing support for the Jira markdown language. Roadmunk a different markdown language and the integration is not "translating". So, you end up with unreadable issue descriptions. 2. There is no integration support for images. So, you are out of luck if you tend to communicate with images. 3. No support for multilevel list nor dynamic list numbers. 4. Not possible to lock fields in Roadmunk to avoid sync conflict.

  We are happy to let you know that we have come a long way since 2018.

  Not sure if you have been in Roadmunk recently, but our team has introduced a number of enhancements which help with the readability of ADF (Atlassian Document Format) formatted descriptions in Jira.

  The image sync issue is a bit trickier because those would require the ability to sync file attachments from Jira to Roadmunk, which we do not currently support or have plans to support due to potential security risks and maximum file size differences; however, we recommend adding alt text to any images and files in the description on the Jira side so that you can have that context in the Roadmunk description when they are pulled in.

  As of 2020 we introduced support for Cascading Fields from Jira - I hope this is what you were talking about, but if not we would be happy to hear more about this field type and your use case. While we do not have a lock fields/read-only fields toggle at this time, users are able to specify a one-way sync on the roadmap to reduce any sync conflicts.

The 2 way Jira integration with Roadmunk is one of the primary reasons that we selected Roadmunk. We use Jira for both Product and IT management and the integration with Roadmunk helps us to keep things in sync. It's extremely flexible and easy to set up. It allows us to update Jira with the appropriate information directly as we're manipulating the roadmaps while also keeping non-Jira related information attached to each item. This has been a massive help for keeping Product and IT in sync and being able to communicate various levels of information to differing audiences as appropriate.

Our team has been using Roadmunk for the last several months. It has been such a helpful tool across the team. With so many details to track in Jira, it's often easy to get lost in the details, and lose sight of the bigger picture. That ability to balance between both vantage points has proved to be one of the key drivers behind my obsession with Roadmunk/ Jira 2-way integration. It allows me to maintain both in-the-weeds and mile-high views simultaneously, so that I can keep every stakeholder focused and working toward the same goals, regardless of their role/ learning style. I can't wait for mobile friendly versions/ apps to come out!
