Create Branch Wizard for Bitbucket
Automatically selects the right repository and fills in the configured branch values when creating a branch from Jira
Without this app: last used repo is selected
When you create a branch from Jira, the last recently used repo is selected and not the one that belongs to the Jira project. This can lead to the situation where you create a branch in the wrong repo by mistake.
With this app: right repo and branch values filled
With this app, when you create a branch from Jira, the right repo and branch values are automatically selected for you. The app analyzes which Jira project to use by scanning the commit messages.
Configure Jira issue to branch type mappings
You can also configure which branch type should be used for which Jira issue type and component and what to use as "branch from". No mistakes can happen anymore and branch naming schemas can be enforced easily.
Helps you prevent mistakes & save time when creating new branches in Bitbucket from the Jira development panel:
- Without the app, the last used repository is selected in the create branch dialog in Bitbucket. It automatically selects the right repository based on analyzing the commit messages for Jira issue keys & can map Jira projects to Bitbucket repositories (see BSERV-4139).
- By default, no app configuration is necessary to select the right repository & branch types.
- This default behavior can be configured by specifying for which Jira project, components & issue types which repository & branch values (branch type, branch from) should be selected.
- The app is able to configure how branch names are built when creating new branches from Jira issues. You can disable adding Jira issue summaries to branch names & use the issue key (see BSERV-8746).
