Note that Looker and Jira data in a Looker supported data warehouse are required to use the Looker Block for Jira Analytics.

Looker’s JIRA block is designed to work with the Fivetran JIRA schema. Fivetran has abstracted away many of the complexities of the JIRA data model to make it easier for reporting purposes. The Fivetran schema for JIRA data can be found here.

    What is a Looker Block?

Looker Blocks are building blocks—pre-built pieces of LookML that can be leveraged to accelerate analytics. From optimized SQL patterns to fully built-out data models, Looker Blocks can be used as a starting point for quick and flexible data modeling in Looker.

Why use the Looker Block for Jira Analytics?

    • Enables self service reporting outside of Jira
    • Includes metrics important to analyzing Jira data including a focus on Versions, Sprints and Issues
    • Pre-built dashboards on commonly requested metrics save development time
    • Ability to correlate JIRA data with other data in your warehouse using Looker
