More details

Two-Factor Authenticator is currently compatible with Jira. It is the second factor for authentication and is user-friendly and simple.

In addition to using your credentials – a username and password – every login is also authenticated with a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP). Install and activate the Two-Factor Authenticator app as described in our user guide.

  • Get started by installing a compatible app. Find a list of MFA-compatible applications here:
  • When you are first added to Jira, you’ll receive an email with a QR code. Scan the QR code into your application of choice, and a TOTP will be generated.
  • Instantly login to Jira using your username, password, and the generated token.
