    Search Unresolved Comments

    Just select particular user as assign for the comment where the question is raised. The list of available users is the same as for the parent issue assignee field.

    Assigned user could communicate on the question in a way like reply on initial comment or make some changes on issue Description. As soon as question is answered the assigned user mark the initial comment as Resolved.

    JQL function "unresolvedCommentAssignee" helps to find out unresolved comments assigned to pointed users or group. Filter based on the function could be used in standard gadgets on dashboard for easy monitoring.

    When you need to ask&track a simple question in comments for particular user but sub-tasks functionality is too much there is a solution with "Assignable Comments" add-on.

    Solution is designed in KISS approach and provides a simple and user-friendly mechanisms to:

    • assign some comment to particular user
    • expect that user to monitor such assignments via simple JQL filter
    • resolve assignment in terms of answering the questions in comments
    • notify collaborators vis standard JIRA mechanisms of e-mail and Webhook

    Solution is also compatible with well-known "Threaded Comments for Jira" add-on.

    We recently installed this add-on and have really been enjoying it. It makes dealing with sub-tasks that pop up in a ticket that don't necessarily warrant a separate ticket way easier to manage. We had wanted to integrate this into our collaborative chat service, but couldn't figure out a way to get comment assignment to fire a webhook. We contacted Devexperts (the developer) to see if they knew of a way to accomplish this. Within about a week and a half they had developed and released an updated version of the add-on that included support for this! That's quicker turnaround on a feature request than I would expect for a paid-for app! Thanks for a great add-on, and awesome support!

    Very nice little addon. We often work on an issue that will make it easier for us. We have a lot of projects every month, would it be possible to install that the addon is automatically activated in every project?

    Installation

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new apps or Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Assignable Comments via search. Results include app versions compatible with your Jira instance.
    5. Click Install to download and install your app.
    6. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
