Really basic plugin, you can only create new issues and only a view of a JQL/search filter. But what we need most are new issue notifications as an entry in the group chat?? Like you can do with Slack.

    Hi Rob,

We appreciate your feedback. With Microsoft Teams for Jira cloud plugin, users may create, find, edit, vote/unvote, watch/unwatch and comment issues in Jira via Microsoft Teams App in the scope of Personal or Chanel Tabs, but it won't send the notification in the Microsoft Teams Channel.

In order to notify the users in a chosen Channel about JIRA issues updates you need to configure Jira Cloud Connector (Webhook), it will send the notification about created and updated (Status, Issue Type, Priority, Assignee, Issue) issues.

If you need more detailed information about functionality or how to configure webhook please submit the request via this form: https://www.softserveinc.com/en-us/msteams-atlassian-privacy-policy.

    Hope this is helpful.

    Best wishes,

Would be useful ist it would come with all columns, filter options and if the Tickets Popup would show the custom fields. Also attachment download/opening is not possible. Update 11.03.2020 -> that was confirmed by your support now, that it is not possible

Terrible add-on! A complete disaster. A few hours after activating, it completely corrupted our add-on folder, leading to JIRA not responding and a loss of dozens of hours of work due it's unavailability. We've managed to figure out the problem and eventually disable it but there is no way to remove it now. No response from the SoftServe for a week now (but I'm sure they'll jump to respond to this commend on how sorry they are or something). DO NOT INSTALL IT!

Hi I am trying to submit support request but its not letting me create one. If any one of you know that answer let me know. I am trying to integrate Teams with our on-prem JIRA instance and it asks form a unique ID for JIRA instance. I did try the host name of JIRA and application name but it still asking for unique ID for JIRA. If I provide the ID from configure page of teams then it doesn't accept the same id when I try to Authorize it.

Sounds like a great add-on. When will SAML authentication be supported?

    Hi Peter,

One of the most requested features from the community was to fully enable Single Sign-On and SAML support in the Microsoft Teams for the Jira Server app. We have released this functionality in version 1.4 on October 20. New authentication flow does not require end-user to enter credentials in Teams anymore. Validation happens completely by SSO/Jira Server. Please install the latest version of the plugin and check whether the issue still persists. Please Note! now Microsoft Teams user authenticating in the integration should have network access to Jira Server from a place where the process is initiated. This may mean connecting VPN or doing this inside work subnet where Jira Server is hosted. Please note this is valid only for the authentication process and is not needed further for other workflows.

In case you need our assistance, please feel free to contact us at MicrosoftTeamsIntegrationsSupport@softserveinc.com

This plugin overall has been well received by our company, but there is still a lot to be desired. Users have really enjoyed the bot functionality, tab view, and the personalized views that are available in MS Teams. We chose not to enable the webhook functionality (notifications) due to the fact that system admins would need to maintain this for every team/channel. A few of the main things that stick out (currently running JIRA 7.6.6 on Data Center): -slow load times, connection timing out -inability to customize tab's fields (currently using out of the box fields) -custom fields are not shown when creating/editing issues which can be problematic -inability to use this on MS Teams client (this is more due to MS Security Setting than the plugin but nonetheless has factored into how this is used) -SoftServe Support only communicates through email, which lacks transparency/visibility - we are very accustomed to using Service Desk for support from all other vendors and we really miss that when communicating with SoftServe Support. We are confident that the plugin will continue to be enhanced and bugs fixed based on their current release cadence and great customer support (still wish they used Service desk to track requests).

Webhooks work well, tabs are fine too but displaying boards would be much better. I am not able to connect with the bot. I clicked authorized send proper Jira id. Teams (freemium) asked me to log in with the Admin account, what I did, clicked yes to authorized connection from the Jira server. In the end, I got an error message {"error": "An unhandled error occurred. We are working on it!"} Our Jira server is in version 7.5.1 Does it work only with office 365 premium?

    Hello Szymon!

Thank you for the question. We are sorry to let you know that Microsoft Teams for Jira Server plugin was developed to work with Microsoft Office 365 with Business license or Enterprise Office 365 only. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the stable work of the plugin with other versions of Microsoft Office 365.

The full documentation on the plugin can be checked here.

    Kind regards,

Team, I tried reaching out to you via email (microsoftteamsintegrationssupport@softserveinc.com), but failed to get a response. According to your documentation, there are a lot of IPs and URLs that need to be white-listed for the integration between JIRA server and Microsoft Teams. Do you own those IPs or they belong to Microsoft? Is there any way to shortlist the IPs or DNSs? Also, can we just use DNS (using wildcards) instead of IPs ? Please advise.
