With the Numbered Headings for Page macro, the auto-numbering feature can be activated for the entire editor window.
By activating either the Numbered Headings (Legacy) macro or Number Headings (Transition) macro, the plugin becomes backwards compatible with the Avisi plugin.
The source code for the plugin is publicly hosted on Bitbucket at https://bitbucket.org/keysight/keysight-plugins-for-atlassian-products
More details
A user can drop the number-headings-for-page macro on the page and all of the heading in the editor will be automatically numbered. The source code can be found at https://bitbucket.org/keysight/keysight-plugins-for-atlassian-products

It's a fork of the Avisi Numbered Heading macro - so yeah, it's totally going to conflict. Was there something else you noticed about it not working in your 6.2.1 instance?
Thanks for the feedback.
You should not active all of the components. there is a numberedheadings (numberedheadings-legacy) and numberedheadings (numberedheadings-transition) which conflict with each other. One tries to insert the headings as css styles (the old way) the other inserts the number inline (the new way).
On your page, are you using the numbered-headings-for-page macro or one or more instances of the numbered-headings macro?
What does the inconsistency look like?
Thanks again!

The good news for you is that Avisi is almost ready to release an update to their plugin that will hopefully have a more robust implementation of the features in this fork. To support that effort, the Keysight Numbered Headings plugins is being deprecated and will be removed from the markeplace in the near future.
