    Powerful interface

Easily ask for approval from a set of users on a page from the header.

Approvers are notified by email of the pending approval and a new item is added to their Dashboard alerting them to the waiting item.

Use the Section Approval Macro to insert Approvals within a page, embedding it inline with content.

Select from expiring approvals on a page edit, adding comments on status changes or preventing unapproval once approved.

Easily find approvals you asked for, or ones waiting for your approval.

Use the filters to find specific pages and see visual avatars showing the current status of each user.

    More details

Getting approval on a document doesn't have to be a difficult process - it can be easy and fast with the Approvals for Confluence (formerly Approval Macro for Confluence), simply adding an Approval to your page and selecting approvers will send notifications to those users with a direct link to the page to provide their feedback and approval.

Many types of document require approval before they can be published or formally issued and Approvals for Confluence gives you a quick but rigorous way of gathering the approvals required for your document issuance process.

The App provides two methods to ask for approval:

    • Page Approvals, shown under the page title
    • Section Approvals, shown inline with a macro

    • See pending approvals on the Confluence Dashboard
    • Search and filter approvals using the browser
    • Email notifications
    • Customisable by Space Administrators

UPDATE: Thanks for your reply, Himal! I did not notice the hover timestamp feature - I think it's awesome. I'll reach out regarding the rest. Thanks! Really like this app and want to use it, but I can only give 2 stars because of so much missing functionality. As part of this macro, I would want: 1) a timestamp in the table 2) ability to indicate in the table exactly what it is that's being approved. 3) ability to make approvers conditional (if Abe approved, then Ben no longer needs to approve). 4) more control and transparency into the email reminders or prompts that approvers are receiving. We don't want to spam our stakeholders and not even realize we're doing it. My org makes detailed product requirements documents which may require approval of several different concepts, lines of copy, designs, etc. Including a column for WHAT was approved (rather than the page in its entirety) would be extremely helpful!

    Hi Misty,

Thanks for your review, I'm glad you like the app. I would like to provide some suggestions that could perhaps be of help relating to your review:

    • The timestamp of when the approver approved can be checked by hovering over the status lozenge.
    • This relates to point number 2 and the last paragraph that you wrote, the title of the macro can be used to describe what the item to approve is. Multiple macros can be added on the same page with different titles to specify different items to be approved.
    • Relating to point number 3, would you be looking for, let's say, if one person approves then the rest does not need to? Or would you like more customisation that allows you to customise the condition for each specific person?
    • Relating to point number 4, we completely agree that the email feature needs to have more control, customisation and transparency.

We are planning a new release and definitely would like to talk further about implementing these features as part of that. Please feel free to contact me on himal.gurung@automation-consultants.com to continue the discussion.

Great app !, it would be helpful as well if : - the page's current version number is printed at the comment after all the approvers approve the page - to be able to see a list with all the approved page versions Nice work,

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Confluence Cloud Released 2018-09-25

Page Approvals - New Approval Method

This release transforms Approvals for Confluence into a tool that can be used to get Approval in any scenario - for multiple pieces of content on a single page, or for an entire page.

With Page Approvals, you can add Approvals with a single click, on any page and browse for pages which you have been asked to approve, see pages you asked to be approved and export this information to CSV.

A new Dashboard panel, shown on the Confluence homepage, ensures that you are always up to date on any approvals and our standard email support ensures that if you're not a frequent Confluence user, you can still keep up to date.

    1. Log into your Confluence instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Find new apps or Find new add-ons screen loads.
    3. Locate Approvals for Confluence.
    4. Click Free trial to download and install your app.
    5. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
