Hi , Is it posible to contrall/grant access for certain users to use the Agile roadmaps plugin in cloud Jira? We have 250+ jira users, but only few users need to use roadmaps function in Jira.

    Hi Rohan,

Thank you for your review and questions. Only users with either Project Admin or Board Admin permissions are able to update the Roadmap. All other users with view issue permissions, will be able to access the Roadmap in a "Read Only Mode" where they will be unable to move or schedule issue positions as well as add/create markers or swim lanes.

If your question also extends to licensing the Roadmap for a certain number of users - when purchasing an app license, the user tier must match that of the Atlassian 'host' product (Jira, Confluence etc.). If your Jira instance is licensed for 1,000 users, you must purchase a 1,000 user license of Easy Agile Roadmaps. This is a requirement of the Atlassian Marketplace, as detailed in this Atlassian FAQ

I hope that helps to answer your question Rohan, however please feel free to reach out to support@easyagile.com if there was anything else that we could help clarify.

For me it looks like "feature incomplete" product with a good potential. So, the timeline/roadmap editor is fancy and in general is almost usable, some improvements could be done, but it's OK-ish. Manual issue->roadmap allocation? On 100s of entries? Give me a break! At the very least, I would expect some "for release XX - move all [select issue types] into a roadmap" feature to help me out. Elaborating on this idea, "fox release XX - move missing issues" would be next logical extension. In the current form, it is not worth the $70/month and I stop trial 1 hour after starting it, looking for something more usable.

Hello, Is it possible to limit the access only to the few people ? I don't want to give access of the roadmap to all Jira users Thanks
    Was this review helpful?YesNo
    Easy Agile

    Hi Balleux,

Thank you for your review. Roadmaps are created with a 1:1 mapping with Jira agile boards. We take all permissions for the Roadmap based on the board permissions. To limit access to a Roadmap, create a new board and limit access to the specific group of users. This will ensure that only the users in the selected group have access to the Roadmap. Does this sound like it would work for your situation?

    Kind Regards, Teagan Harbridge

Great tool, exactly what I was looking for! I appreciate the high flexibility when putting the issues on the roadmap. I struggle a bit with the visibility of the issue titles. Issues that don't last long (e.g. only in one sprint) typically don't show the full issue title but only the first ~8 characters. I'm using the monthly view as it gives me a good long-term view, so using the weekly view is not really an option for me as it is too short-term focused. Maybe you could implement a few of the following suggestions in order to increase the visibility of the issue titles: - A new option to hide the issue ID and use its space for the title instead - A new option to hide the issue type - Horizontal zooming (continuous, not discrete as in weeks/months/quarters) - Use multiple lines for issue title Another wish of mine is to add scrum sprints to the markers menu (as Nicolas has already wished for).

    Hi Simon,

Thanks for the feedback. We have an issue on our backlog to display sprints on the Roadmap. I've added added a vote for you and we'll let you know when it is available.

We're looking at ways to improve the legibility of shorter schedules and really appreciate your suggestions. I've expanded the story on our Backlog for this issue with your comments. Thanks a lot!

Hi Nicolas, thanks for the feedback.

We have a story on our backlog to display sprints on the roadmap. I've made a note to follow up here and let you know when it is available.

As for your second query, we can not generate a date-based roadmap within issues, can you elaborate? I'm not quite sure what you are looking for here. Happy to switch to email (support@easyagile.com) if you prefer.

Thanks so much, have a great day.

    (1) Not all features are in Epics. Some are just Users Stories. (2) Planning Epic is useless and lake granularity, as within an Epic, there will be some stories part of say release 1 and other release 2 and 3. Therefore, to base a roadmap on purely Epics makes the product irrelevant. You just need to add US and I buy it!

UPDATE: Easy Agile Roadmaps now supports displaying issues of any type.Hi Gerald, thanks for your feedback.

Easy Agile Roadmaps is focused on proving a Product Manager, team and stakeholder's a high-level visualisation of a product for a set period of time. Where other tools might focus on giving the Technical Program Manager a Gantt-style, granular overview of the program as a whole, we made the conscious decision not to include user stories to keep this visualisation high-level. You can read more about our philosophy around this distinction in this blog post.

    Hi Andrey,

Board Administrators are able to edit the roadmap. If you want to have a separate roadmap that the team can't edit I recommend you copy the existing agile board and make yourself the only board administrator.

    Thanks Andrey.

It is so far a great tool. Would be more great if it had the following functionality: - Search for "unpublished epics". We have hundreds of epics and it is annoying to scroll through especially if they are not ordered numerically. - Ability to show the "status" of the epic - whether it is already in progress, to do, blocked, etc - My "Theme" names get cut off over ~15 characters but there is all this blank space on the horizontal title bar for the theme. It just just show all of the text for the theme name.

For 6500 dollars I would have expected: Customizable colors for date markers Customizable symbols/icons for date markers We have several critical dates that aren't being captured using fixVersions like feature toggling and deployments. We have to be able to differentiate between these instantly at a glance vs having to squint to find the info. I'm happy to change the rating once these are implemented :)

Hi Alan, thanks for the feedback.

We've had a story for that on the backlog for a long time. Your review spurred the team into action and I'm happy to say that our just released version 3.3.5 includes the ability to customize the color of the date markers.

With respect to the custom symbols / icons on date markers - are you just looking to add emoji to the name of that date marker? If so, you can do that today - I just tested and it's actually quite neat.

Thanks so much Alan, greatly appreciate your feedback.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
