No show in Confluence cloud. Like M Hoogenboom said last year, I'm unable to find the source editor button on the page.

      Hi Mikael,

Fair point, that button should not be this hard to find.

When the app moved to Atlassian's Forge platform, the way you open it changed. It now lives in the More actions menu on the page, under Apps > Source Editor, which would explain the empty spot where you were looking. Here's what changed in the Forge version.

If it's not there either, open a ticket at our support portal and we'll take a look at your instance.

    Very useful and free!

      Hi Franjo,

Useful and free is a combination we like hearing about, so thanks for the note. Dropping into the raw storage format of a Confluence page is one of those things you rarely think about until a macro breaks or the visual editor refuses to cooperate, and then it's the fastest way to fix things by hand.

Good to know Source Editor is there for you when that moment comes. If you ever run into a page it can't quite handle, our support team is around at our support portal.

      Cheers,

    Does what it says. Nice!

      Hi Manuel,

Good to hear Source Editor holds up in practice. Dropping into a Confluence page's underlying source and editing it directly, rather than fighting the rich-text editor for control it doesn't give you, is what the app is named for, so a plain "does what it says" is a verdict worth having. Once you're working at that level, it also means you can clean up markup the standard editor tends to hide from you. Should a page ever render in a way you didn't expect after a source edit, you can flag it to us through Appfire support and we'll take a proper look.

      Cheers,

I was a happy user of this app, but lately, it doesn't work anymore in Confluence cloud. I'm unable to find the source editor button on a page. We are on version 3.2.0.

      Hi there,

A button that vanishes after years of working is a legitimate reason to be annoyed, especially on an app you were happy with.

The likely cause: the move to Atlassian's Forge platform relocated the entry point. The editor now opens from the More actions menu on the page, under Apps > Source Editor. The full list of changes is in what changed in the Forge version.

If it's missing from that menu too, our support portal will get your instance looked at.

      Best regards,
