    QMetry

    Hi Robert,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Please know that whenever you install QMetry for JIRA – Test Management Plug-in, all QMetry Test issue types (Test Case, Test Scenario & Test Run) get automatically created in your JIRA Instance by default. You would just need to associate them to the relevant project.

Here is the quick link with the screenshots and detailed step wise guidance from QMetry Help Click Here.

Also, we believe a quick walkthrough/ demo with our Product Expert would be helpful here, please write to sales@qmetry.com with your best availability.

Feel free to raise a support ticket for a quick and prompt assistance form our support team, QMetry support can be reached at qtmfj@qmetrysupport.atlassian.net

    Thanks,

    QMetry Team.

Using Jira Cloud. Cannot add test cases to a test run from a story. Cannot correct linkages to test run / case / story. Altogether very confusing. The idea is there and looks interesting but difficult to use with all quirks. I expect if I see a test case in a user story that I could easily add it to a test run connected to the story or on the fly with the associated story and test case links.

    QMetry

    Hi Stuart,

Thank you for contacting us. We are glad that you found the traceability (User Story> Test Cases > Test Run > Defects) and the idea behind the uses cases interesting. Please know that all the use cases you mentioned are inherent features to QMetry and the end to end Traceability hence offered.

We strongly believe that this is a Training issue and would highly recommend a quick walkthrough of QMetry with our Product specialist. Kindly let us know your best availability at sales@qmetry.com. Alternatively, you can share your best contact details with us for the same.

In the meanwhile, to go over your queries: In QMetry, you can define the scope of Test Run(Execution):

    • By Story (which will in turn scope in the linked test cases to the Test Run automatically) for complete traceability, read more here
    • By a Test cases directly for ad-hoc testing

Whenever you define the Test Run by a story and add/reuse/remove a Test case from/to a story, it will automatically reflect the inclusion/exclusion on all the relevant Test Run screens once rebuild, explore more here.

    Hope this helps.

Feel free to reach out QMetry support (24*7) for this or any other queries at qtmfj@qmetrysupport.atlassian.net

    Thanks,

    QMetry Team.

Overall my team and I are happy with this product. Couple of wants, our company uses a large number of projects, and it would be nice to have more global changes, ie modifying the Execution Result, would be nice to be able to do that in a global location and have it go to all projects. Currently I have to update each project. Also we had hoped to be able to import our excel test cases and map it to a QMetry test case, but after reviewing it this was not possible. It seemed that you could export test cases from one QMetry project and import it into another QMetry project. At least from what I could see. Based off though these two negatives, the product is easy to use, and straight forward and offers a quick guide on the status of the project. We are still tweaking for our company but so far so good.

Hi Dhara, Thank you for your help with automation configuration with JIRA qmetry. This is a good plugin for testing and managing test cases for projects. They keep improving the new functionality. Customer services are really helpful. I had an issue with testng compatibility with Qmetry and they resolved it in the fairly good time frame. I have been using the QMetry for JIRA Server version for about 4 months now, and I have been extremely pleased by the product and the entire QMetry team. I am also using the QAF Automation Framework, and it has been an amazing framework, making automation much easier to implement. The team is ALWAYS helpful and responsive. I have never waited more than a couple hours for any questions or concerns. Additionally, enhancement requests and suggestions that I make are taken seriously, and updates are pushed regularly; so if I have a problem, it is always fixed very quickly. I would recommend this suite of products to anyone responsible for choosing a suite of Test Tools, regardless of size/complexity of situation. Qmetry can and will meet your needs. Thank you very much!

We made the in-house choice to entrust the management of our software test plan to Qmtery, Because it has several assets and meets our internal need. The Jira migration to Qmetry was successfully completed thanks to the support of Qmetry, who put everything in place to make it transparent and painless for us. And the Qmetry support team was very responsive to our queries during this migration phase. The turnover in prod was carried out without problem. Thank you

One of the best plugins for Testing currently in Market, specifically for Manual testing . It is very user friendly and we can manage both test cases and bug tracking efficiently. The Support team also takes immediate steps in helping out our concerns.

Great plugin for Testing. Integration in Jira Tasks is a big advantage and creating Test scenarios, Test Steps and Action Steps is very efficient as you always have the context of the requirements by creating them directly inside the Jira task. Compiling and executing Testruns covers all we need. Re-usage of all test elements is given as well. The only downside i've found so far is the missing support for Firefox Browsers for certain functions, but Chrome works fine Additionally we had a really great personal introduction and support from them. I can really recommend this plugin for Testing.

I highly recommend QMetry, specially if you have to cover Manual and Automation testing. Manual testing is really well covered by all features you would like to have, Test run creation, test cases and execution. Also with features to clean and reuse cases. Only downside at the moment is the restriction per project, I really hope you can improve this in the future so all test cases can be used cross-project. About Automation, you have a very well designed API that will let you report virtually any automation suite into QMetry and check for results using JIRA UI, we currently use JAVA with Maven and Selenium.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
