No manual uploads and duplicated release notes anymore - continuous deployment for p2 apps
Add this Bamboo task to your build job
Add the provided Bamboo task to your build plan. You basically only have to choose which artifact you want to deploy to the Marketplace.
Create an app release from Jira or by a Git push
Trigger a new app release with a build from Jira or by pushing new commits to the master branch and this app creates a new Marketplace app release by using all necessary data from the associated Jira project version.
A new Marketplace app version gets created
After the build is run, a new Marketplace version is created. The version description is your Jira version summary, the release notes are the summaries of the associated Jira issues - a fully automated app release!
This Bamboo task creates new versions of your Atlassian apps by uploading them to the Atlassian Marketplace and by providing all necessary information for a new app version like release notes, summary, build number, etc. It supports two ways of creating new app versions:
- You create a release with a new build from the Jira release panel
- You push new commits to a branch (e.g., master) or trigger a Bamboo build manually
For both use cases the app collects the necessary information like the release version, the name and the summary from the associated Jira version. This means that you don't have to supply all the information for a new Marketplace version of your app manually, but instead this Bamboo task is able to do it for you. It also creates release notes based on the Jira issues associated with a Jira project version.
This app is Apache2 licensed. The source code is available at Github.
