Thanks for your feedback.
There are a couple of reasons for our design
- Jira does not have built-in feature (e.g. labels) to categorize filters
- It is not easy to enforce standards in the filter category naming when any user can create their own filters
- We are not expecting a lot of filters within a single gadget, so it will be easy for them to add the filters with the search functionality
- The design is more flexible where users can add any filters they want to use, instead of limited to filters with a specific category. This may results in users creating multiple copies of filters so that they can categorize according to their naming conventions

Installation
- Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
- Click Find new apps or Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
- Locate Menu Gadget via search. Results include app versions compatible with your Jira instance.
- Click Install to download and install your app.
- You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
To find older Menu Gadget versions compatible with your instance, you can look through our version history page.
