I am attempting to use tags to modify JIRA macros in the resulting pages. For instance, I want to be able to type in a fixVersion, and have the resulting page contain five or ten JIRA macros that use that fixVersion in the JQL query. Documentation states that this is possible, but does not explain how. Could you please update the documentation to explain how to do this?

    Hi Matthew,

Thank you very much for your review. At the moment not every JIRA macro is fully supportet, because JIRA macros behave differently. You are welcome to add a request to our JIRA Service Desk (you find the link under the tab Support -> Issue Tracker) and mention which JIRA macros you plan to use. We are going to have a detailed look at it. Thank you.

    Best regards,

I am reviewing this add-on and find it very useful indeed. What I wonder is if I can use it to automatically create a page tree for each employee we have. Would that be possible?

    Hi Patrick,

Thank you very much for your feedback. Yes, it is possible to create a page tree from outside the browser by GET and POST commands. Could you add a request to our JIRA Service Desk (you find the link under the tab Support -> Issue Tracker), so we can send you the PDF document. Thank you.

    Best regards,

Page Tree Creator is absolutely fantastic. It is simple to use, well documented, and has great functionality. One of our departments has a 20+ page structure that they want in place for each of the companies they track. It took me less than an hour to set up Page Tree Creator such that they can go to a page, enter the name of a new company, click a button and immediately have the entire structure built out for that company. It plugs the company name into every page title to keep pages unique. We maintain a tree of the template pages to use and everything on those pages ends up in the new pages, any text, labels, macros. Very powerful and a huge time savings.

This Plugin ist very helpful and easy to create Templates and use it in different ways. We also have reduced our support-time or data house-keeping time. The structur is more clear and easy to understand for the users. And they are happy to not thinking about the place to keep.

Thanks guys for this incredible tool, has saved me a lot of hours already! I got two questions: Because we are getting more and more templates, it becomes difficult to structure these. I found out that in the PTC space I can move templates under parent pages like in a folder system, if I name the parent pages like "PM Templates ((GLOBAL))". PTC does find all pages under this "folder-pages". Although it feels like a kind of a hack, it helps me a lot organizing the PTC space. Is that the right way to do it? One other issue I could not solve yet: Having a lot of templates makes it difficult for the user, when he/she wants to create a new page! Although I like your new UI and the closer integration with the Confluence Create menu a lot, this seems still improvable: How can we group the templates? e.g. "Project Management (MOM, Decision Reports, Status Reports...) , SW-Development (Requirement Specs, Architecture Doc, Quality Plan...), Product Documents (Manual, Troubleshooting Guides...) +++? Even a one level hierarchy would help a lot to find a specific template, even if you do not now the exact name. Technically it could be a representation of a hierarchy created in the PTC space (like mentioned above) or by having an additional "Group" attribute on the template directly. What do you think? Does that sound reasonable to you?

    Hi Joerg,

Thank you very much for using the Page Tree Creator and your nice review. The way you are using the 'global' tag is absolutely correct.

Besides that, these are some valid points you are mentioning and also good ideas. We are currently working on the next version which will be released in the not so far future and I'm sure you will like the improvements in the template handling as well as the Create... dialog. It will also provide better usability and a more obvious system to organize your templates.

The levels inside the Create... dialog are also absolutely reasonable and are on the features list as well, but I'm afraid they won't make it into the next release.

For further discussion of your use cases and requirements, you are very welcome to open a ticket on our service desk. We are always happy to talk about new ideas for improvements ;-)

Tested the Plugin while setting up a new Confluence instance - our administrator team was instantly hooked. Easy to use and with great functionality, providing some functions that we wanted and even some that we didn't know we wanted and don't want to miss anymore. 5/4 stars!

Hi guys While setting up a demo for our (future) customers i installed this plugin and configured it. After playing with it for about an hour and made a beautiful setup, i must say, This plugin is AWESOME!!!! It was well documented and very easy to set up the template with multiple pages and variables that are filled in during the creation of the new pages. A must-have plugin if you need to create the same page tree over and over again!

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
