It's absolutely useful and I love it. Thanks for your idea. I think you should consider a caption for metadata fields for people using it in another language and more filed types.

    Hi Ansar,

    Thanks for your great review!

We would like to save your suggestions as new feature requests. Could you elaborate a little which new field types you would like to see? Additionally, which language(s) do you have in mind?

Thanks for helping us improve our add-on!

    Kind regards,

This shouldn't be an add-on after all, it should be a core feature of Confluence. It makes defining and showing important data much more easier. You don't have to work with a mixed usage of macros and tables, just use a simple input form ... Still, I'm missing a couple of features (mainly better UX/UI and more field types (date, regex, email, number ...), but at least the functionality it already provides is valid 4 stars. With everything implemented I wanted I propably would have given it 5 stars.

This app has been invaluable for categorizing our pages in Confluence. We can group metadata fields into sets, associate them with page templates, require page creators to fill in particular fields if needed, and rename fields after they're created. The integration with search in Confluence is also very helpful.  We've used the app to create dashboards and to assign "content owners" to specific pages. We even used metadata to build a "community forum" on Confluence, with fields to track whether questions are answered or waiting for a response. Finally, the support team has been kind and responsive, and receptive to suggestions. Thank you!

This is our current Go-To App to organize our content and make it easier to query and dynamically list our data. Metadata for Confluence is not quite there yet for what we have in mind, but together with other Addons such as "Create Page" (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/157/create-page-for-scriptrunner-confluence) or Page Tree Creator (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1214062/page-tree-creator-blueprint-creator) the possibilities are there. High on my Wishlist currently would be: > Better filtering / reporting options without our users having to learn CQL (date ranges!, metric conditions such as "> or >=") > Conditional fields during entry (if A = Yes, then ignore B in the form) > Enforce Regular expressions during Field entry > Adding default & hidden metadata values that can neither be seen nor changed by users but still include them in sets > Enforcing Metadata Entry even when re-editing pages or better directly allow to edit data like in forms while directly looking at pages.

I'm loving this add-on because it makes working with metadata easy. Using it for structuring pages by setting metadata fields as required and by dropdown menu users can select a value. Afterwards you can filter these values with the macro and build a structure into your pages. It is definitely more powerful than the standard labels.

Metadata for Confluence ist ein Must Have.

    Original review by Ronald Schwab:

Metadata for Confluence is a must have. When the number of Confluence pages is growing you have to consider how you want to structure information so you will be able to find what's relevant. Confluence standard functionality like "page properties" only helps so much. This add-on on the other hand provides you with considerable more functionality, like e.g. metadata sets. The latest updates helped make it even more powerful.

This app is one of those "must have apps" for Confluence if you want to collaborate on structured content. And it is such a "must have app" for very good reasons: - the app offers great and very flexible configuration options - it comes with a variety of very useful macros allowing to provide an overview of different "kinds" of content - it expands search options allowing to find content more efficiently - it integrates nicely with other "must have apps" such as Comala Document Management or Scroll PDF Exporter - what I particularly love being an app developer myself: It comes with a pretty powerful Java API, so it can be integrated in any custom development for Confluence

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
