Great product, easy to use Register and great Risk matrix that management can view to see where the project is. Only gripe is that the sorting of the register, when selecting "Key" (The JIRA reference) the JIRA entries arent in number sequence (1,2,3,4) but are in (1,11,13,2,22) etc. Can we get this fixed?

Does this allow you to tag or associate the risk with a story or epic in a Jira Project or Board?
    ProjectBalm

Certainly! You can add a risk to an epic, just like any other JIRA issue type. You can also link an issue to an existing story using the standard JIRA linking functionality. Or the cloud version allows you to add risk information directly to a story ticket. For more assistance, please contact us using one of the methods detailed on the Support tab, above.

What bout priorities - I would like to define 6 risk priorities and all of them are visible everywhere in Jira and creating normal e.g. Bug issue type I can see all Risk priorities in drop-down which is not nice - is there a way to restrict Risk priorities only to Risks ???
    ProjectBalm

Hi Tomasz. Instead of using Jira's built-in priority field, you could create your own custom 'Risk priority' field, and give it the priority values that are applicable only to risks. Then add that new custom field to the screens that are used to create, view, and edit risk issues.

Can the size of the Risk Matrix in this app be customised to a 4 x 4? Jill

Yes it can, Jill. See the Risk model tab of the add-on settings.

We use Risk Register especially for our ISO 27001 risk management. What distinguishes our use-case from many others, probably, is the number of risks in one project: Our risk matrix contains more than 8.000 risks! After encountering massive performance issues in the first tests, we contacted the ProjectBalm support. Several weeks, we had a lively exchange. We always got quick responses from the support and finally the performance issues where solved. Now, our dashboard with two risk matrix gadgets (each containing more than 8000 risks) renders in about ten seconds. Of course, there are some more features that are important to us: - The number of options for impact and probability can be chosen freely. - The exposure can be chosen freely for each field in the risk matrix. - When clicking a cell in the risk matrix gadget, all risks of that cell are opened in a new tab in the issue navigator. Further, a dashboard with risk matrix gadgets is a perfect instrument for meetings with management or audits.

Very useful app. The residual risk is exactly what we needed. Is it possible to apply project specific risk models? Right there is one risk model which can be adjusted and applies for all projects. We would like to apply a 5x5 risk model for one project and a 3x3 or 4x4 for other Jira projects.

    ProjectBalm

Thank you for the review, Marion! We are currently working on an enhancement that would support multiple risk models. We will notify all customers once this is available.

After the pre-sales contact I had with ProjectBalm, possibly the best I've ever had in my 25 years of experience, everything has gone on rails. We adapted Risk Register to my company extringent quality system with some internal development together with ProjectBalm's help and it is now being used by all my section projects. The usability of the tool actually compels to perform risk management! Look no further.

We are a health care software company and were looking for something to simplify risk management as part of our security program. As we are already heavily invested in Jira we hoped to find something that would help minimize duplication of effort. After trying other options we settled on Risk Register by ProjectBalm and never looked back. I am not a technical person and personally only started using Jira a few months ago and still this add-on was so user friendly and customization that I had little trouble setting it up to work the way we wanted it to. Whats more, the few things I thought of to add, it turns out were already there, such as definitions and help notes included with the custom fields. Finally I have been greatly impressed with the prompt response to the few questions I did end up having. This is a must buy for your risk management program.

The latest release is excellent and provides a well-integrated and user-friendly risk management add-on for your projects. It's easy to customize the matrix for your own needs, and simple to roll out to existing projects or to create new standalone Risk Register projects. Great support and frequent updates provided too. Highly recommended.

The Risk Register add-on works for both project risk management as well as enterprise risk management. The support from the author is great and this add-on is also under constant development.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
