We use Risk Register especially for our ISO 27001 risk management. What distinguishes our use-case from many others, probably, is the number of risks in one project: Our risk matrix contains more than 8.000 risks! After encountering massive performance issues in the first tests, we contacted the ProjectBalm support. Several weeks, we had a lively exchange. We always got quick responses from the support and finally the performance issues where solved. Now, our dashboard with two risk matrix gadgets (each containing more than 8000 risks) renders in about ten seconds. Of course, there are some more features that are important to us: - The number of options for impact and probability can be chosen freely. - The exposure can be chosen freely for each field in the risk matrix. - When clicking a cell in the risk matrix gadget, all risks of that cell are opened in a new tab in the issue navigator. Further, a dashboard with risk matrix gadgets is a perfect instrument for meetings with management or audits.

I just install the plugin for a server JIRA installation. Sounds quite good and easy to use. But I'm facing a (major) issue: I'm not able to link another JIRA issue to the risk, so not able to mitigate my risk by another task. It seems to be faisible in the cloud version, as shown by the available screenshots.

Firstly David from the support team was an incredible help. He really went the extra mile to help us understand the plug in and its functionalities so thank you David!!! For all those considering the tool, the Risk Register Plugin is great and has been very useful to us. Its easy to use and can provide a clear view of the risks associated with multiple projects being managed in JIRA. We can even run some informative dashboard reports on them as well. Great Job.

Dear all, Can anybody help me ? I Have a doubt about using this add-on, especially about the risk matrix; is it possible configure it according to the origin/type of the risk? I need to separate the threats from the opportunities, so I'm thinking about creating or separating this information on the matrix, but I'm not sure about it. Anybody has an ideia about that ? Thanks.

    Hi Jaqueline,

You can show threats and opportunities on the same matrix. Configure your risk model (in the Administration area) like this:

    • Impacts: Very Negative, Mildly Negative, Neutral, Mildly Positive, Very Positive
    • Probabilities: Very Unlikely, Unlikely, Likely, Very Likely, Almost Certain
    • Risk Levels: Large Threat, Small Threat, Neutral, Small Opportunity, Large Opportunity

You can then map from impacts and probabilities to risk levels.

If you need further assistance, submit a request on our support portal at https://projectbalm.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1. We'll be glad to help you.

    Best regards,

    David Pinn

After the pre-sales contact I had with ProjectBalm, possibly the best I've ever had in my 25 years of experience, everything has gone on rails. We adapted Risk Register to my company extringent quality system with some internal development together with ProjectBalm's help and it is now being used by all my section projects. The usability of the tool actually compels to perform risk management! Look no further.

We are a health care software company and were looking for something to simplify risk management as part of our security program. As we are already heavily invested in Jira we hoped to find something that would help minimize duplication of effort. After trying other options we settled on Risk Register by ProjectBalm and never looked back. I am not a technical person and personally only started using Jira a few months ago and still this add-on was so user friendly and customization that I had little trouble setting it up to work the way we wanted it to. Whats more, the few things I thought of to add, it turns out were already there, such as definitions and help notes included with the custom fields. Finally I have been greatly impressed with the prompt response to the few questions I did end up having. This is a must buy for your risk management program.

The latest release is excellent and provides a well-integrated and user-friendly risk management add-on for your projects. It's easy to customize the matrix for your own needs, and simple to roll out to existing projects or to create new standalone Risk Register projects. Great support and frequent updates provided too. Highly recommended.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
