Very nice and simple add-on. The tree view with the tractability really helps.

Hi, I am evaluating the add-on and it seems really nice. Is that possible to add any selected custom field information on coverage and traceability matrix?

Dear Tolga, thank you for the positive feedback. I'm happy to announce that support for additional fields in the coverage view will be part of version 3.2 which is scheduled to be released later this year. Adding more information to the traceability matrix is something that we're currently discussing. We would be happy about your input for this. Please feel free to open a ticket in our service desk.

Hi, the add on looks great however our company is moving towards the cloud and I see that this add-on does not support it. Do you plan on moving to the cloud and when will you do it?

    ease solutions Pte Ltd

Dear Thomas, first of all, thank you for the positive feedback. Support for JIRA Cloud is something that we're currently discussing internally. Though, as of now, we can't give you an estimate when this will be available as we're focusing on improving the functionality of the server version. In case you need further information please feel free to open a ticket in our service desk.

Using R4J it's really easy (and configurable by a JIRA administrator) to begin with, expand, and customize requirements management on differently sized projects. It is also possible to visualize the complex relationships of product lifecycle management and the fulfillment of requirements for standards and product approval. Especially because of the committed team of ease solutions, which does not stop improving and developing the plugin; for example, template-based Word export, which is critical to QM-based doc control and submission to test and approval authorities. Keep it up!

I have question on how to find a issue in the tree view. For example, when I jump to another requirement by JIRA link, it goes to JIRA issue view, and the tree view disappeared. It's hard to find out where the current issue in the tree.

Nice plugin, but the API REST documentation for manage baselines does not work...

    ease solutions Pte Ltd

Dear Alberto, your review is very much appreciated. Regarding the REST API, it seems that our docs team was too enthusiastic and has documented upcoming features of R4J version 4.0, that are not yet part of the latest release. Meanwhile, you're one of the lucky few to get a glimpse of what's coming next. We will review the documents and remove all references to features that are not yet released. Thank you for the hint! :)

Nice Plugin, could be integrated within Jira as Application if business goes well. I have a question concerning the export to Word using the template-language. How to conserve the Word Template Style applied to the template-language expressions such us ([[\wiki $,description]][[wiki]]) ?

At the risk of sounding like a late night info-mercial, this little add-on is the solution I've been looking for for at least 4 years. It's revolutionizing our core value proposition. I've tried doing requirements management with Requirements One, Confluence, spreadsheets, and more. But this is what I've been looking for! My favorite feature is the 'tree' view where I can visually organize things all the way from the business perspective down to the technical requirements, and all in a structure and language that works with our business model. On top of this, the staff has been great. Way to go Ease Solutions!

Does not create or update real links between issues. The requirements tree lives inside the Add-on only and hence it is completely useless in other parts of the Jira. You can’t JQL it, you can’t add detailing requirement to the sprint, you can’t organize your reqs into tree of links or subtasks. The only use I can see here is traceability matrix. However, there are other add-ons doing it better. And I was hoping to get a comprehensive tool for describing and fulfilling requirements for the first time.

Dear Evgeny, we appreciate your feedback to our product. The requirements tree of R4J allows you to further structure your project requirements in addition to JIRA issue links. You can query this structure using JQL as described here: Advanced Search. We would be happy to invite you to a web-based demo session to demonstrate the features and to discuss how they can be used to fulfill your needs. Please create a ticket in our service desk and one of our consultants will get in touch with you to schedule an appointment.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
