It's a great app for requirements management. Much simpler than CodeBeamer or DOORS, but provides the same core functionality and capability. We use this app for our product development and it fits us very well

Hello Alexej,
many thanks for using easeRequirements as a replacement of CodeBeamer and DOORS, we are proud to compete with these goliaths and match your expectations within our requirement engineering tool.

I used the app since 2015 (formely R4J) and I was before that a heavy IBM Rational Doors user.

It's a good app to write requirements. Also linking is supported (although I'm not using it yet). Requirements can be stored within a folder structure which works fine. We also use it to generate documentation under change control. The exporting is the main feature why we are using this app. However there are 2 things 'wrong' 1) If you add an image you cannot adjust it's size. It reduces it to a certains dimension which is (in our case) not desired. Also when linking an image from an attachment, then only a thumbnail is displayed and not the text. We currently have a workaround by using the REST api interface, but a feature of inserting an image and to be able re-size it needs to be available please solve (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-72631). 2) We are missing testcase functionality. It would be great if it would be added in the future.

Hello Ludo Houben,
thank you for your great review and suggestion, we are very pleased to have you/your company as customer.
Regarding Image Resizing in Jira: Our platform utilizes Atlassian Jira's native features for editing the description field with uploaded or attached images. The image handling capabilities are entirely managed by Jira's out-of-the-box functionality, and we have no control over this behavior. The option to reinstate the legacy markup editor, as seen in the server edition, is at Atlassian's discretion.
For a more streamlined experience in modifying image thumbnails, we recommend leveraging our Excel Add-In, which allows for easier adjustments via search and replace—offering a more efficient alternative to using Jira's REST API.https://easesolutions.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/R4JC/pages/2477817952/Microsoft+Excel+Add-in
And for your request on Test Management functionality in easeRequirements:
While easeRequirements is primarily designed as a requirement engineering solution, it can also be adapted for basic test management with a simple approach. By applying a custom workflow — incorporating states such as Design, Defined, Passed, and Failed — to an issue type labeled as Test Case, users can create and manage test cases, track execution status, and link them directly to requirements.
This setup enables the use of easeRequirements' coverage and traceability features, offering enhanced oversight and alignment with models like the V-Model for requirement and test management.
Best regards, Bernhard

Requirements Management for Jira (R4J) is an excellent extension for Jira, enabling a quick start into the world of requirements management. It is well-suited for small projects but also adept at managing more complex platform projects, offering functionalities such as baselining, diffing, and structure as well as content reuse out of the box. The key advantage is its seamless integration with Jira work items. The support team is exceptionally helpful and responsive, whether addressing new feature requests, resolving issues, or restoring backups (a service we recently utilized). Thank you for the excellent support!
