    Even though functionality looks nice and shiny, the loading times are so long, that whole add-on is basically unusable. I really like the functionality and the UI (especially managing milestones and tasks from within the GANTT-Canvas), but the inline-WBS in every issue takes literally 10 seconds to load and it sometimes takes more than 20 seconds to load the GANTT (for a project with less than 100 issues). --> would give 4/4 Stars for functionality --> since the whole Add-On is unusable at all, unfortunately only 1 star.

    Concept is not bad, although there are a lot of things that could improve to make this quicker to work with. Also, the worst part is, this is VERY, very slow... sometimes on a bigger project, it takes almost a minute to load and that's simply not useful! There should also be a way to preview issues instead of having to open in a new tab each and every issue we want to check. A lot of room to improve yet, mainly speed related.

    Thank you for your feedback. As we can agree that early (beta) versions of our plugin might have had some performance related issues, the infrastructure upgrade which our services have undergone ever since should really prevent those from reoccurring. When looking at BP and BG latest feedbacks, we believe that our clients are usually satisfied with their cloud experience though, in few cases a so called: 'BigGantt and BigPicture performance related issues' happened to be a Jira Cloud performance related issues. Sometimes those problems could be related to one of web browsers which we do not support. There could be plenty of reasons which our Support Team would be more than happy to help you find and resolve.

    As per Jira Issue View on the Gantt chart, we would also like to implement this feature and see it come to live one day, as we love it on the Server version of our app, yet due to Atlassian API limitations in Jira Cloud service, we are unable to do so. Don't be alarmed though, as we have raised a ticket on Atlassian's end for them to look into it.

    BigGantt is an amazing application. Don't let the initial configuration phase get you off - if you want a gantt overview of your tasks, this is the one app that will solve it. It is flexible enough for any implementation, allowing different hierarchy priorities and possibility to easily reschedule single tasks or full groups (+ordering, +groping, +JQL filters, +much more). It provides much needed overview to everybody involved. Now, word of advice, if installed "as-is" (or with BigPicture), this application adds a maintenance overhead to task organisation. To automate this maintenance we have chosen to install the following Jira plugins: * JMWE to automatically set task start and end dates upon task state transitions (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/292/jira-misc-workflow-extensions) * Automation For Jira to get start and end dates from sprints (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1215460/automation-for-jira) * Timesheet Reports and Gadgets for time reporting (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/294/timesheet-reports-and-gadgets) This suite gives us the possibility to visually plan ahead and to follow epics completion based on estimated time burndown of the individual tasks. As an additional feature, BigGantt also allows to create a "ghost" version of a planning and be able to visually compare the real development with the initial planning a month or two down the line.

    I started using the trial version of this plugin this week. The UI is sleek and easy to understand. Also the documentation is massive, and there is even a youtube video to give you a good idea of how the tool is used. However, I started having problems when exporting the Gantt chart to a PDF format. I submitted a support ticket and got a response with clear instructions within an hour! I am impressed by the quick response and the capabilities of the tool. I recommend this tool to anyone who likes Gantt Charts.

    It is quite unstable and even doing basic stuff is often a problem. If you report a bug answer can be something like this: "It happens sometimes just do it manually" - well yeah do it manually - hundreds of issues... Also asking to provide full administration rights to their email is not something what you will be wiling to do...

    Thank you for the review. We do realize that some issues with the Cloud version of the plugin might have caused a user to encounter few problems, especially in its first months after the official release. And yes, in some cases a manual troubleshooting was required, though we are trying to implement hot-fixes to all of our plugins as often as possible.

    We do not request administrative rights to anyone's e-mail. In most cases we offer a WebEx troubleshooting session with screen sharing, where user reproduces the issue and one or two of SoftwarePlant team members guides them through the plugin set-up in order to resolve that specific issue. In some cases, when the above is not possible, customers offer a creation of a JIRA account with administrative rights to their environment in order to test, reproduce and fix some issues, though this usually takes legal forms like NDA.

    Please let us know if the issue you've struggled with still persists or maybe if it was fixed with the later releases of the BigGantt.

    Very slow to create a chart (from a tiny test project). Came up with meaningless errors. Took no notice of assignments, scheduled all tasks simultaneously. Could drag them manually but not link them. If you did this, the change this was forgotten if you created a new chart. Changing the estimated time of a task had no effect on the chart; you have to make a new chart, which will have forgotten everything you did.

    I have three questions. 1. Can I edit the start date and the end date by texting not drag-and-drop. 2. Baseline schedule bar is overlapped with present schedule bar. Can I replace the baseline and present schedule bars in two lines? 3. I know you'll support multiple baseline in around Q3 this year, Could you let me know the exact date?

    1) This can be done indeed through Jira Issue Detail View. Please keep in ming though, this operation is still performed within Jira not in plugin itself. Even if it may seem like it.

    2) This issue has been fixed in one of the latest releases and should no longer be a problem.

    3) Sadly, the multiple baseline functionality has to be moved to the end of Q4 this year, as there's many other features which became our priority as well as the fact that we are planning to implement multiple baselines with plugin's new look and feel.

    This is exactly what you've been dreaming of if you just wish you could work with your epics and stories/tasks laid in a Gantt view. Setup is a little tricky, but the great support makes up for that. If you have a hassle, just ask.

    Large charts are crashing the browsers, previous updates froze company's work. The latest update when the dates moved in 20 years gave us a pain as we had to rebuild all of the plans we had. The next one, when you introduced new features (auto, manual, lock) broke all the locked tasks we already had with the previous functionality and we had to rebuild them again. Now, we cannot do almost anything with this add-on as we are experiencing a major issue: - large charts are crashing the browsers (have around 400 tasks) - middle charts take 5-10 seconds to process each movement (have up to 100) Have you ever tested you add-on on performance? Because unfortunately you have none. Do you ever test your builds on DB changes? Because we were losing the information with new features and your architectural restructures. Playing with it on small projects and a little amount of tasks was fun, but when it comes to a serious work on large project that take from 6 months to develop, this add-on is no use. We were forced to use it as there is no alternative on the market but now we are thinking about going back to external tools as even this manual work takes less time than dealing with the add-on issues constantly. PS. In case you think this is a hardware problem, this is not. We have NO issues with hardware as we have powerful dedicated servers and our PMs are working on Mac Book Pro pros (custom powerful configurations). PPS. I was trying to leave a feedback on the company's support site but simply couldn't. After filling out a form and trying to submit it I was thrown an error "Reporter field is required" when this field was hidden from the screen.

    How does cloud app pricing work?

    Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

    When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my cloud pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

    The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

    Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

    How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate BigGantt - Gantt Chart for Jira via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for BigGantt - Gantt Chart for Jira. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. BigGantt - Gantt Chart for Jira begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.

    To find older BigGantt - Gantt Chart for Jira versions compatible with your instance, you can look through our version history page.
