    Lots of good intentions and great ideas, but still needs a lot of work before it will save you time. - [Gantt] Same as BigGantt (room for improvement). - [Scope] somewhat like Structure. Subtask are automatically mapped under their Story/Task but everything else is a time-consuming manual process. - [Roadmap] nice feature, but again all manual, so no reason to chang to this if you already usea an other tool. - [Resources] and [Teams] just the basics from any other gantt tool - but at least it is there. - [Riscs] nice to include it, but brings nothing 'extra'. (a critical path analysis in the gantt part that could add/link to riscs part would be nice ).

    Very very slow. Overly complicated. Overly rigid. Seems to be their own waterfall-ish version of agile. Bottom up approach to PM, requiring task-level definitions of all of the activities that calculate out to a schedule. I'm looking for a top-down approach where my schedule is build before the tasks (or I don't have to define every single possible task for several iterations to project a plan) that simply works across multiple projects at the release or epic level and not the task level.

    Yes, BigPicture supports both agile and waterfall methodologies. Users can choose, whether to work purely agile, purely waterfall, or in a hybrid manner, and we suppose the majority of users actually do the mixed PM. We specifically support Scaled Agile Framework, and our support team, support( )softwareplant.com, routinely gives out directions on how to set up BigPicture for nearly any project management methodology.

This has to do with the release of significantly better BigPicture 7.2.

    BigPic is the perfect app for planning and setting up deadlines for tasks, highly recommend it! Although the support says it takes up to 30 hours to first answer, we've got responce in two hours, and located the problem after 4 hours. Big thanks to Tomasz, all the support team, and the devs!

    We are using BigPicture, mostly the Board (former Roadmap) module, to plan our R&D department development cycles. We have completely transitioned from planning our tasks and features on the wall with sticky notes to using BP Roadmap. Also, teams’ capacity planning features help us to better plan sprints and avoid overloading of resources. In addition, support is fast and committed. Keep up the great work! I would recommend this app for any company that needs great planning tools over Jira.

    Our company have been using BigPicture for a while, and it´s our main tool for planning issues and projects. It´s a very powerful and intuitive tool. Also the support is really fast and committed, and solved every bug we´ve found.

    We have been using BigPicture in VMware NSBU for more than a year and it has proven itself to be the only tool integrated with JIRA that combines gantt, flexible editing, hierarchy, resources, risks, export and import from MPP files and much more in one place. We have seen the tool evolving and bugs getting fixed. Support is very fast despite the time zone and cares about our feedback.

    Hello, you wrote in your documentation "...but allow you to define exact working hours for each day" in the workload plans section, but it is only possible to add full hours like 7 or 8. In some countries they have 7.5 working hours like in Finland and I am not able to configure this. Is this just not possible or is there a hint to to it? Other Add-ons like Tempo are able to handle this easily. The logged work is shown with 1.25 or 2.5 in the same resource overview so it shouldn't be a problem... br, Volker

    Hi Volker, it's now doable to add both 2.5, 1.25 or even '1 hour 24 minutes' availability in the workload plans in BigPicture. We tested this again today to be able to give a definite answer. Marcin

    If new versions include a way to manage cost as MS Project does, it is going to be the best option ever for project management in JIRA. Unfortunately, if you want to manage project costs/budgets, you still need MS Project or other add-ons, which could be better if you have everything in a single tool.

    How does cloud app pricing work?

    Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

    When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my cloud pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

    The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

    If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

    Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.
