The plugin is extremely buggy and has disrupted our Jira usage, preventing us to move issues from the Backlog to the Sprint. Customer support is practically nonexistent, as it take a terribly long time to get assistance. I have no idea where all the positive reviews come from! This plugin is not worth the money and should definitely be improved before anyone else could start using it confidently.

This is an extremely buggy application. I was impressed by the live demo and the rich features that the app has. But once I installed a trial, I found all sorts of weird things are happening... 1. I get errors now and then to create new programs 2. Tasks from unlinked projects show up in scope etc. etc.

Hello Anupam,
I'm sorry for what you've described and I believe our support team is capable of resolving your case. From my own trials, the further you're in, the fewer errors you get. These are usually related to some missing settings, which users commit one time per the lifespan of the app in their organization. I appreciate you stating the 'live demo and rich features' as this sophistication relates to the # of errors, and errorless times prevail, eventually. Please give u another try in a month or two. Sincerely, Marcin

Very very slow. Overly complicated. Overly rigid. Seems to be their own waterfall-ish version of agile. Bottom up approach to PM, requiring task-level definitions of all of the activities that calculate out to a schedule. I'm looking for a top-down approach where my schedule is build before the tasks (or I don't have to define every single possible task for several iterations to project a plan) that simply works across multiple projects at the release or epic level and not the task level.

Hi Travis, thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that.
As for the performance of BigPicture, we'll release a faster version very soon; for now, please consider these tips as some of them apply to BigPicture Cloud: https://softwareplant.com/jira-bigpicture-performance/. We've also managed to help many clients at support( )softwareplant.com.

Yes, BigPicture supports both agile and waterfall methodologies. Users can choose, whether to work purely agile, purely waterfall, or in a hybrid manner, and we suppose the majority of users actually do the mixed PM. We specifically support Scaled Agile Framework, and our support team, support( )softwareplant.com, routinely gives out directions on how to set up BigPicture for nearly any project management methodology.

We've recently written a tutorial on how to do the top-down planning in BigPicture: https://softwareplant.com/jira-top-down-planning/
We'd be happy to receive an e-mail from you and try to solve your issues.

I was getting errors on almost every action I tried to do. Configure program box scope? Error! Deleting Program box? Error again. I will try to re-install the add-on, but, honestly, I cannot trust my projects to an app which fails every other minute.

Hi Lena, thanks for the review. Hope what you've seen is temporary, as the majority of SoftwarePlant's hands are busy transitioning everybody from BigPicture 7 to the new portfolio-oriented edition 8. Should there be errors they rarely have the power to impair your Jira projects or issues. Hope everybody will benefit from BP 8. Also, if you feel you need help, please email us at support@softwareplant.com, errors tend to get fixed quickly. Or, please give us another try in a month ;) Marcin
