It does what it claims. It would be nice if email notification contained the related comment history. I like that the plug-in can be easily removed if needed.

Loved the usability. Unfortunately, ver 1.1.8 is not supported under the latest JIRA release.

UPDATE2: Same problem, different JIRA version. We're currently stuck and can't upgrade to a new JIRA version, because this plugin is not compatible yet. No reaction to mails sent to their support mail address. Really sad... UPDATE: Funny... the exact same day I posted this negative review, a new version was released. Yet, I've still not received a feedback from the vendor. Not the customer friendly way to do it, but at least it's working now. This is a really cool plugin and our users love it. Sadly the vendor seems to be dead. No reply on my questions about when it will be available for JIRA 7.2.0 or 7.2.1 for weeks. Guess we'll have to drop it or search for a replacement.

    Dominic,

Unfortunately we had some delays in releasing the updates for all the plugins. Thank you for your support.

Also do note that it's a free add-on and such reviews will only reduce the interest in maintaining this.

Very convenient plugin which adds what i would call a necessary enhancement to JIRA issues, because of that I'm giving it 4 stars. There are a few things this plugin lacks and other's have noted this/the description notes it but I would like to put my vote in for: - Previewing comment replies before submitting them -- -- I can understand why the Wiki Markup may be difficult to add but previewing the reply would really help reduce mistakes with formatting (eg forgetting to close a code snippet - Better rollup view for long issue comment threads -- Something like a notification counter to indicate there are unread comments would be helpful since reply threads can get lost easily if 5 normal comments are added after the original comment you're replying to

Hello there. New design is non-comfortable. Is it possible to make a possibility to switch between old and new design scheme?

I'm with Jennifer. I would gladly pay up to $500 for this plugin, but $2,000 is ridiculous. I got excited for a minute when you went commercial because I thought maybe there were new features like support JSM. But for this very basic feature of threading comments, I'm sorry but there is no way I will be able to sell it to our management at this price. Please reconsider your pricing.

Hi Susan, We will take your pricing feedback and that of Jennifer below on board. We are currently working on a new release that will improve UX and include a backlog of user requested enhancements. This should be available mid-March. I hope the enhancements are to your liking

    by Jennifer Kelley on 2021-03-01
You've got to be joking with the pricing on this app. Threaded comments are a nice to have feature that honestly should be part of the core package. When I saw that it was becoming a paid app I thought, they'll probably want like 100 bucks. Nope, you want $2000 for my 500-user license. How do you justify going from free to $2000? Threaded comments are a nice to have, not a need to have. I am paying less for apps that actually add robust functionality that we NEED to have. You should definately sharpen your pencil.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, it should be part of core, but it is not.The vendor that we acquire the app from went out of business because they could not support and maintain this app for free indefinitely. We have to charge to cover our costs or there would be no app at all. We are charging similar marketplace prices to comparable apps. You are running a business and are well aware that you have to cover costs to stay in business. We hope you continue using the app.

Threaded Comments is a "must have" feature for such product like Jira to reduce mess in comments. Missing it in Jira is a pain. $500 for standard feature (100-users) is a robbery. Nothing to add...

Hi Ilya, Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately these add-ons cannot be provided and supported indefinitely for free. We need to cover our dev costs. Meanwhile, any suggestions for improving the app?

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Management (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Management, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
