Fantastic plugin, genuinely I'm using it for calculating delivery cycle efficiency, and it shows the discipline of engineers using JIRA but also if they are disciplined with updating the status of tickets it gives great indicators as to where they are struggling i.e. if it;s the QA area, or code review or In progress and so on... I have a whole dataset created off this plugin now, and do some nice calculations for SLA's and so on, please do keep updating this plugin it's great!

The app has been good so far. The data that is able to be pulled really helps with calculating SLA's. I have run into some minor issues and the support team has been awesome with helping to resolve them.

This add on has been very valuable to our organization's Jira instance. I also recently found that when I had a question about how to go about doing something that the Time In Status team was very helpful and responsive to my inquiries. I really do appreciate that. I would definitely recommend this add-on to anyone looking to track Issues' time in status.

HEAD IN THE CLOUDS! Here's why we love using Time In Status as a plug-in for our Jira Cloud instance: 1) This is SUCH a great plug-in and is perfectly resolving one of our key challenges for Service Desk team: Proving to a client that they are the bottle neck and we waiting so long for them. [Our Workflow now includes "Waiting For Customer" and we monitor that heavily] 2) But beyond that, it is providing us many more important reporting of KPIs plus surprisingly does way more than we had expected! 3) It is a little daunting at first but overall really user friendly and great UX. In particular, it's use of JQL is brilliant. 4) The reporting and exporting functionality does work perfectly fine (ignore other reviews on this) 5) Support by OBSS is excellent. A quick process to submit JSD tickets with them, fast response times, and during screen-share of a Q&A session, we even got a free 45min introduction training to go through the whole App by Emre. Amazing!

After a few tests, looks really great. Only issue at the moment: calendar settings don't allow to have custom hours per day, and not pause for lunch. And pause for lunch is quite important in France ;-).

I was happy when I found Time In Status add-on, but there was few things I needed to see improved to make full use of its potential. It took >7 months to provide all the features/improvements i requested, but the end result is good. Thank you for delivering what I was asking; the plugin is now much more useful with those improvements.

    Hello Elie,

I am glad to hear that we could help you with our support.

Our current support process gives highest priority to bugs on existing features. Anyone who gets an error or cannot use the product due to some mulfunction gets the highest priority. The target is to fix the product as soon as possible so customer can start using it as soon as possible. I believe we are pretty much successful with this target.

On the other hand any improvement or new feature requests are escalated to product backlog and is reviewed by the development team in two weeks most of the time. The customer is informed about our first evaluation result, whether the intention about the request is positive or negative. If it is a clear reject, we do not want to give false hopes to the customer so say it up front. If it is positive, the item stays in the backlog and evaluated further.

The important thing is, keeping the item in the backlog does not guarantee when or even if the feature is going to be implemented. Any new request, no matter how small it seems, gets into our existing development roadmap and might not be that easy to develop.

Your improvement requests were also evaluated by the team and our first evaluation is positive. We informed you about that. We also believe, as you do, that those features would add value to our products. Nevertheless, due to existing plans and resource assignments we cannot start developing them today. We will keep them in the backlog and will try to put into our roadmap in the future.

Thank you once more for your interest in our plugin.

I have tried many plugins to get a report of how much time a set of JIRA tasks (JIRA saved filter) spend in a particular status. This tool beat out all other tools for my use. As a QA manager, this tool helps me study time in status for JIRA tasks "waiting to be tested" as well as how much time tasks spend "in QA". One of the best option in this plugin is ability configure company specific business hours and holidays. Reports can still be generated based on business days or 24/7 time/days counting. The advanced option allows for selecting for saved JQL queries. Another great feature is, option to select only the status that need to be included in the report and unselect anything that is not needed. Export to Excel option is great as well. For me, the most useful sections are the "Hour Based Report" and the "Hour Based Average Report". Functionally, this plug works. However, it could use some speed improvements, better UI and layout.

    Hi Mustaq,

Thank you very much for the kind review. Your satisfaction is most important to us.

Speed is one of our top concerns about the plugin. Since the plugin has to go through not only all issues but also through each issue's history, it is a quite I/O intensive operation on the server. We made some optimizations to improve the user experience and execution speed with versions 2.0 and 2.1. You can bet we will continue working on it.

Time in status helps me to understand and report on lead and cycle times across our development and support organisation. I've been really impressed and pleased at the level of support that OBSS has provided. They've been responsive and have helped me work through any issue that I've had since installing the plug-in almost a year ago. Great product, great support - thanks OBSS.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See our Purchasing & Licensing FAQ for more information.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
