    **Please read this carefully to avoid data loss** Important information on how to use Version & Component Sync.

    The synchronisation process can be very destructive to your Jira instance. Please make sure that you understand how Version & Component Sync works prior to configuring links in a production environment. It is recommended that you test the process with two dummy projects or use a staging environment the first time you are configuring a project link.

    The most common cause of data loss is incorrect hierarchy in the project link configuration. Project links are used to configure 'push' synchronisation: the versions or components of the project from which your create ‘project links’ will be replicated to the selected ‘linked’ projects.

    We are currently only trialing this add-on but are extremely impressed by the very swift and competent support and suitably convinced to proceed with purchase. In particular the seriousness of a security issue that we found that led to the release of 2.1.8 was fully appreciated and acted on with a resolution turned around as a beta in a matter of a few hours. With a couple of extra nice-to-haves, like being able to synchronise only selected versions based on per-project-link regular expression (because otherwise all versions are replicated in all child projects), then we will really be able to have a centralised version management without all of our users needing version admin (ie project lead/deputy) rights in all projects (see e.g. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-3156 )

    I love this plugin! We use it for our major JIRA projects. Saves a ton of time for versions updates. Although we experience some issues with JIRA 7.2.7. Sync is not working for the NEW links (shows sync in JIRA admin view, but fields are still disconnected). Any ideas what might be the problem? Is the latest release could fix this issue? Thanks, Ewa

    Re-installed after updating to get the 2/22/17 patch. But now every time I enable the add-on, the Summary view for a project's administration page looks like the HTML is mangled. When I click on the link to add a project link for Versions or Components, the link takes me back to the mangled Summary view.

    Thanks for your feedback on the Version & Component Sync add-on. The problem with not finding any projects to sync with is indeed a know problem. A hotfix release will be made available on the Atlassian Marketplace by the end of today for all supported versions of the add-on to address this issue.

    [UPDATE 2017-02-22]: the hotfix release that resolves this issue is now available on the Atlassian Marketplace.

    2018-11-12: Update The support we got in early 2017 was short lived. Support is non existent anymore again for a while now. New problems came up but the tickets we have opened cannot be accessed anymore. I can only get back to and emphasize on my initial review: Don't get this plugin. It is buggy and you get no support. 2017-02-23: Update Over the last weeks we have been working closely together with Collabsoft for the new release of this plugin. It's a great new release and the support was excellent. Thanks for coming back that way! 2016-09-05: I agree with the recent reviews. Do not get this plugin. It is faulty and there is NO support. I reported this to Atlassian because I believe that vendors like these should be removed from the Marketplace anymore.

    @George: we starting migration of our customer support system last week to improve customer experience, which is why the old project and issues are no longer accessible. All customers with open tickets, including yourself, will be notified the coming days by our support staff. We are working on all issues that have been reported, but in many cases, incl. some of the issues reported by yourself, the problems are yet to be identified, which makes it difficult to resolve them. Because of efforts of other customers, we have been able to identify the cause of at least three open issues last week and will be resolving them shortly.

    [2017] @George: thank you for your updated review. Again please accept my apologies that you were unable to use the add-on for some time. I'm glad that you were open to giving it a second try. You've been very helpful in finetuning the latest version, it has definitely become a better add-on because of your ongoing feedback!

    While testing this add-on some unexpected behaviour was identified. A CollabSoft support ticket was opened (26-JUN-2018) to verify our findings, in the hope that a quick solution could be provided and we could move forward with the purchase. Unfortunately, support has been non-existence since the initial confirmation of receipt/confirmation of the problem. Several requests have been made for an update on our case with no response at the time of writing review (6-AUG-2018)! The lack of support lets a potential useful add-on down!!

    The addon worked for a few weeks for us before it broke our ability to edit workflow schemes. We opened a ticket and received numerous updates about how the addon was being largely rewritten due to our problem. You can find details in this ticket here: https://collabsoft.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/SUPPORT-234 Previously, we were supposed to receive a test version of the new version update and the addon was supposed to be released months ago but there has been no communication from the support team. Please use this addon at your own risk.

    To make this story a bit more complete: after the support ticket was created, I worked with Matthew on trying to figure out the issue with the add-on. An intermediate hotfix release was provided which went unattended. There was indeed a lack of proper follow-up, but after the intermediate release was finally installed the issue appears to have been resolved.

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

    Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

    This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

    However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

    What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

    Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

    For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace.     How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    Installation

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new apps or Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Version & Component Sync for Jira via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Version & Component Sync for Jira. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Version & Component Sync for Jira begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.
