    Time entries are submitted on the date the page was loaded, not when the start button was clicked. If you leave the browser tab open overnight and click "start" to resume work on the same ticket, the time will be submitted to the previous day.

    The UX for this app is really weird. Ideally, users could set a budget for a Jira ticket, start the timer, and then see the budget burndown in real time. And this information should always be syncing with Harvest so that you can view detailed reports in Harvest. We need our developers to actively see how much time is remaining in the budget at all times so having a budget progress bar in plain sight at all times is critical.

    Even though the Harvest projects/tasks don't map to the Jira ticket you are on, this add on is such a nice reminder for people to enter their hours on the spot. It has helped us streamline our time entries.

    It looks good and is more convenient than the other, but it doesn't log time to the worklog. Thus it only does half the work. That half is well done, I might say. (I often got -0:03 on my timer as I started tasks for some reason, but the actual time entered in Harvest was correct). If worklog integration is enabled, this will be a great plugin. Until then, my team and I will use the other one... begrudgingly.

    Almost 2 years have passed and it still doesn't update time in JIRA. I'm looking for something to replace Harvest although I don't want to.

    Details

    • The timer form is now embedded into the page — no need to click a button to open a dialog anymore.
    • Issue notes are back! Harvest timers will now auto-fill the issue ID and name into the timer notes for quick time-tracking.
    • Links are back! Harvest timesheets will now link back to the issue that created a timer.

    Installation

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Find new apps or Find new add-ons screen loads.
    3. Locate Harvest Time Tracking (Official).
    4. Click Install to download and install your app.
    5. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
