Works exactly as intented. Editing templates and navigating through these are not for everyone though, be careful.

Works on Jira 7.1.1, however I would suggest placing the Link (Email Editor) somewhere easier to find. Currently it is under System/Mail (where you configure the outgoing email server etc), You should put the link under add-ons (or on both places), thats where everyone searches for it. I guess thats the Problem of the bad reviews. Or you could atleast provide a screenshot with its location. Anyways, the plugin simply shows all .vm used for emails directly in JIRA, making this more efficient than getting the file over ssh f.e. Everything you could have expected considering the plugin is free. PS: I guess that after an Upgrade of JIRA the changes are lost? It would be a great feature to have copies automatically saved in the home folder aswell

I do not see any template files in the left pane, just the headings of "HTML Templates", "Text Templates", and "Subject Templates". Are there any issues with file permissions, etc, that may be preventing the template files from appearing? plugin v1.9 JIRA v7.1.4

This is working fine for me in our dev environment. Just to help out others who may have problems finding the templates once this is installed: Top right, click Settings Gear > System Left sidebar, under Mail > Email Editor It's not incredibly complex or anything, but it's free and it gets the job done.

Looked like a good fit for what we needed, but did not see the one file I wanted to edit (footer.vm) available on the side. It wasn't a big deal to edit in Textpad, but this add-on would have saved some time - having to connect via WinSCP to the server, bring the file over, edit it locally, and send it back.
