We are using testflo add-on for some time now and it seems to be a good one for Jira Cloud if it comes to testing. Thanks to steps repository we have created a re-usable set of the most commonly used cases. We also like the way it integrates with Jira and that it can be configured for every project separately. Hope in the next releases we can expect more functionalities of Server version to come to Cloud also!

    Hello Markus,

Thank you for the kind words. Reusability of steps and individual configuration for each project are the key concepts in TestFLO for Jira Cloud and we are happy that you like it!

We have a lot of features for the Cloud version in our backlog and many of those ideas are based on the Server version.

A very good test management app for Jira. Very feature-rich and easy to use. There are many flexible ways to configure it. — If the configuration should lead to a dead end, then the support is very friendly, helpful, patient and fast. Thanks for your help and for a great product!

    Hello Detlef!

Thank you for this review, it's great to read those kind words. Flexibility is key when we are talking about TestFLO, the organization or even single project teams should be able to decide how their testing process will look like. There are also more exciting features coming your way!

I agree that there are lot of ways of customize, and I know how to do it, the thing is that, once you customize some things as the test plan ot cases workflows, then other features stops working. This is because I said that it is a good product, but needs to be improved. Lots of issues are raising during the use in my company, now i cannot configure testflo for new projects until next version is distributed and the bug is fixed.

    Hello Juan!

There are a lot ways to customize TestFLO according to one's requirements. You can always contact our support if you need help in setting up TestFLO, or want to request a new feature. We will be more than happy to help you. As for reporting in TestFLO, you can use Jira native features to achieve this goal. However we are aware how important reporting is and therefore we have new dedicated reports planned in our roadmap. Stay tuned!

Hi! Do you have the plan implementing some conditions, validators and gadgets for the plugin? 1. Under Conditions, validators I mean checks for the all steps is Passed, or has one of Fail, does not None value for the steps. 2. Under gadgets I mean, for better see the Test reports (like test execution, pass rate for all related release issues). 3. Last one, it is easy UI for copy steps to another test case, also possibility to convert test case to test template. Hope it helps to improve the plugin for the server version. Cheers, Gonchik Tsymzhitov

    Hello Gonchik!

We have worked out a road map for TestFLO lately and you can expect some major feature improvements and new functionalities in the future. Referring your remarks:

    1. In upcoming sprints we will be working on new steps extended with new features. After their release, we will able to enhance the process control with various workflow mechanisms - we have them in our backlog.

    2. New reports (for test execution but not only!) are a part of the road map. Those reports will be based on version context just like current Test Coverage Report.

    3. Copy steps to another test case - we have that in mind when designing new steps. We have a feature for creating TCT from TC in our backlog, but currently it is also possible with Jira functionality. You need to clone the desired Test Case and convert it into a Test Case Template, that's all!

Thank you for you input, we really appreciate it!

Super unclear that the cloud version does not match with the documentation. I was super excited to see the capabilities showcased in the documentation. Will try again once we spin up our own servers, but for now it doesn't really provide any functionality on cloud.

It's great having a product integrated with JIRA so nicely, with the ability to do management reporting on test progress. Having the Test Case Templates is great for those regression tests, but I haven't yet fully explored how Test Case changes can be migrated back to the Templates, and other tasks that would make Regression Suite maintenance smoother. I'd like to add comments to each step, or at least have the ability to add comments, but maybe that's the point and if there is something to comment on, then I should really just raise a bug. Can I give up my need to write informational comments (which might not even add any real value)? Question for me, really.
    Deviniti

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. Currently changes in Test Cases cannot be propagated back to templates, but we have this feature in our backlog. As for commenting individual Steps, we are now working on completely new steps, that will allow to comment, create a defect and attach a file to an individual step. Stay tuned!

Beware: The Cloud version of TestFLO has extremely (!) limited functionality in the current state. There are no test runs, no import/export functionality - all you can do is add test steps to existing issue types. Everything you see on the official webpage are features of the Server version.

    Hello Florian,

TestFLO for Jira Cloud is significantly different than the version for Jira Server, that is correct. Currently it is a solution for simple testing processes, but we are also thinking about its future and new functionalities. Stay tuned!

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

This app does not have a a Data Center approved version. Only apps meeting a set of performance requirements for large, clustered environments are approved for Data Center.

However, while server apps are built for single-server deployments, many customers successfully install them in Data Center products. If you're using a Data Center product, Atlassian recommends you contact the vendor to determine compatibility at scale.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app does not have a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Server license if you decide to install this app in a Data Center product.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
