    Not a scaled agile framework tool. This plugin has a lot of great waterfall functions, but it is not great at scaled agile development. We track points and issue count...not hours. I can't find a report that will give me capex/opex based on issues a team works on. We assign issues to teams and not individuals. There only seems to be reporting at the individual hourly level and not team based point reporting. Even issue count reporting would help us but there doesn't seem to be that either. I have configured accounts segment and added the field to all issues, but there is not one report that can give me CapEx/OpEx based on issues that are assigned to a team. Right now I feel like I purchased the full version of the tool pre-maturely. Don't make the same mistake I did.....if you are a waterfall shop....this tool is great....if you are a SAFe shop....stay away! UPDATE: Soumaya's solution below does not solve the problem. I recently spoke with Tempo's adoption team who told me over the phone that logging hours is the ONLY way to get the reports I'm asking for. So again this is NOT a Scaled Agile Framework tool. Tempo should reconsider marketing this tool as a SAFe tool.

    Thanks for your feedback and we’re sorry to hear you did not have a great experience with Budgets.

    The Folio can be configured in a way to have the issue count as the primary estimation scenario. In this case, Tempo Budgets assumes that all issues within a Folio has the same weight, and the completion ratio is distributed evenly among all issues. Tempo Budgets offers other configuration scenarios e.g., story points and other numeric JIRA custom fields. Another option is to set the Folio configuration to “Based on a fixed total number of worked hours” to avoid the need for an estimation on all single issues and simply to track the effort hours against a fixed budget of estimated hours.

    Since all information in Tempo Budgets flows from Tempo accounts, therefore it is mandatory to configure the accounts to the CAPEX/OPEX categories (set the correct account Category and account Type) so that Tempo Budgets will feed this information and display it as such and for that the "Synchronise with Accounts" option needs to be enabled (Global Settings > Accounting > Synchronise with Accounts). Other expense can also be specified as CAPEX/OPEX and Folio can be split into CAPEX/OPEX as a best practice and to make tracking and reporting easier.

    By looking at all the review user have provided, I felt motivated to write a review. We have been using a couple of Tempo plugins like Timesheet, Budget. etc. From the time, we seriously starting using these plugins, we are finding lots of bugs. All the bugs, which we faced, are escalated to tempo, however, there is none of them being resolved so far. Tempo budget/Folio is good if you just wanted to play with the tool. However, as soon as you will put this system into production, you will start seeing the bugs it has. here are some of the issues we have faced with Folio/Budget. 1) For cost planning, it averages out the resource availability rather than planning based on the day. This is a problem if you have resources, which are not loaded for the complete timeline. You will start seeing the unnecessary difference between plan and actual cost for the particular time period. 2) Overtime rules can be enabled only for each resource, which is error-prone and buggy. There should be an option to set it for complete folio/team/global. 3) If you are thinking of automating using Rest API's. There are lots of bugs. For instance, you cannot get the timesheet log for the user if he is inactive on your team. These issues are just a couple of issues, I wanted to highlight, but if someone is interested I can provide all the issues this system has. My main purpose of writing this review is to reach out to Tempo team publically and also provide some help for users who are evaluating this plugin.

    We are using this plugin for about a year, together with Planner and Timesheets. We were looking for an effective JIRA-integrated tool to replace several costly desktop apps. We really like the flexibility with setting up a folio with JQL scope, budget baselines, possibility of revenue/profit tracking and good reporting section. As you can see all financial data in "real-time" with Tempo Budgets there is no need to waste time on gathering information for single "snapshot". The budget structure is clear, organized in portfolios and folios. Next step for us is to look into Accounts feature as another layer of financial data organization and it also seems to be very interesting.

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.
