Good software. However for complex configurations : try the more powerful big brother : Configuration Manager for JIRA

  Hi there,

We appreciate you sharing your perspective on Project Configurator. It is great to hear that you find the software solid for your needs. You have touched on an important distinction between our tools, as we designed Project Configurator to be an efficient solution for focused project-level moves.

For users dealing with those highly complex environments you mentioned, moving up to Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) is often the right path. While both apps excel at moving data, CMJ is specifically engineered with a deeper focus on full-scale migrations and system-wide integrity, making it a powerful choice for large-scale enterprise transitions.

If you ever need help deciding which tool is the best fit for your next migration project, please feel free to reach out via our support portal. We would be happy to discuss your specific environment to ensure you have the right level of power for the job!

  Cheers,

Paweł Customer Success Team | Appfire

We are planning to migrate Jira from Server to Data center, luckily we got a quicky response for the issue resolving from the support team.

  Hi Binko,

It is great to hear that you are making progress on your journey from Server to Data Center! Migrating an entire instance is a significant undertaking with many technical hurdles, and we are happy that our team could provide the quick support needed to keep your project moving forward.

Project Configurator is designed to handle the heavy lifting of moving configurations and data, so we are glad to be a part of your success during this transition. Ensuring a smooth move to Data Center is a top priority for us, and we will continue to be here as you finalize your setup.

If any other questions pop up as you complete your migration, please feel free to reach out through our support portal. We wish you the best of luck with the rest of the move!

  Cheers,

Basically obsolete. I'm told multiple times by the support to use a different app than this to do project migrations. Used to be good before being acquired by Appfire to be deprecated. Support suggests paying customers to instead use CMJ (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211611/configuration-manager-for-jira-cmj?hosting=cloud&tab=overview), which is another app by Appfire, and it's paid. Of course, you do not get offered a free/matching license if you own Project Configurator. The fact that this plugin is still being sold here without any disclaimers is either a money grab, or incompetence. I won't speculate. 2 stars for historical usability, 0 for support.

  Hi Radek,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're sorry you feel this way about Project Configurator and our support team. Our intention was to grant you the right tools to achieve your goals, and in this case, Configurator Manager for Jira (CMJ) was a better fit for what you required. Hence, we suggested switching to that app – even providing you with a discount coupon to alleviate the inconvenience.

We want to kindly remind you that, since you told us that you didn't like the idea of switching to a different app, our team invested time and effort into developing a dev build to address your demands. This solution is now ready, and we genuinely hope you can make use of it and achieve your goals.

Thank you again for your feedback and we sincerely wish Project Configurator for Jira continues to be your import and export tool.
