Smart Jira Issue has moved from Atlassian Connect to Forge, Atlassian's native cloud platform. From a Jira admin's perspective, three things changed:

Security: The old OAuth consent screen and externally stored access tokens are gone. The app runs entirely inside Atlassian's infrastructure, authenticating via Forge's built-in mechanism — no tokens for us to store, leak, or lose, and no external server ever touches your Jira data.

Runs on Atlassian: The app carries Atlassian's official "Runs on Atlassian" badge, confirming it meets Atlassian's security, residency, and compliance bar for Forge apps. Your data never leaves Atlassian's cloud.

Backward compatibility: Migration uses Atlassian's app-succession mechanism, so your existing installation and license carry over automatically — no reinstall, no re-authorization, no new permissions to approve. Every Confluence page using the old macros keeps rendering exactly as before.
